The objectives of the research are to know and describe average score students’ narrative writing ability, whether there is an influence Summarizing Short Stories towards ability at SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2020/2021. Most students get difficulties improving their language skills, especially writing. Writing a problem expressing developing ideas or thoughts into written form. Narrative text one kinds that should be learned by students. To solve above, writer used technique teaching Stories. In this research, chooses title: “The Influence Students’ Ability Second Semester Eighth Class 2020/2021”. reseach, analyzed result using t-test formula. was conducted eighth class VIIIa were as sample taught showed significant ability. It shown distribution list with df = (n1 + n2 – 2) (23 22 43 obtained ttable t0.95 significance level 5% t0.99 1% equal 1.68 2.42. lower than tcount 3.84 experimental ( =66.58) higher control (: 56.14) second semester
